Leeds United take on Norwich City on Tuesday night after demolishing Coventry City on the weekend, with The Whites in good shape in terms of form but without a number of key players.

Daniel Farke ruled out five key Leeds players on Monday during his press conference. The most-notable of which is captain Ethan Ampadu, with Farke confirming Ampadu is set to be missing until the new year. The Championship is often described as the hardest league in European football by Farke and his theory is proven not only by the many injuries suffered, but with Norwich coming just three days after Coventry.

Farke is not the only manager that has been speaking ahead of Tuesday’s reunion between two sides that did battle in the Championship play-offs last season, but so has Norwich boss Johannes Hoff Thorup.

Norwich manager Thorup discusses Leeds promotion credentials

Speaking to the Pink’Un ahead of Tuesday’s clash, Canaries boss Thorup said that it is “fair to say” that Leeds will be right up there when it comes to those competing for promotion to the Premier League.

He said: “Three points against Leeds and three at Derby count the same. But sometimes we can all see who will be up there at the end. It is fair to say Leeds will be, so we can definitely get some answers.

“Where we are, and how we can compete against one of the best teams in the league. What I feel and sense is the guys just want to play in front of a home crowd and show them we are strong as well.”

Leeds come into the game on a real high. Two wins in a row after the loss to Burnley, five clean sheets in the last six and just one goal conceded in the Championship since Leeds drew 3-3 with Portsmouth. Leeds are in better form and despite the numerous injuries sustained in the early part of the season, it is fair to say that The Whites will still be considered favourites when they go to Norwich on Tuesday night.

However, Norwich have clocked up two consecutive wins including an impressive 4-1 triumph over Tom Cleverley’s Watford and then Derby away on the weekend. It will be an intriguing affair on Tuesday.
