“You have to start the conversation at around £30 million, and you don’t drop anything below that, I’d love to keep him”- Burnley told to only consider sale of highly rated attacker for £30m as Ipswich Town show interest in signing player

Burnley winger Wilson Odobert is subject of interest from Premier League outfit Ipswich Town.
This is according to a report from Football Insider’s transfer guru Pete O’Rourke, who claims that Kieran McKenna has identified Odobert as another Championship talent he has ambitions of signing.
Having signed the 19-year-old on a five-year deal from Troyes just last summer, the Clarets have ambitions for Odobert to have a future at the club. But, McKenna’s side will have aspirations of dismantling these thoughts by submitting a suitable bid for the winger.
The exact figure required to sign the Frenchman remains uncertain, as no reports have emerged on this matter. However, considering his strong performances last season, it is reasonable to assume that Scott Parker and his team will place a high value on him.
FLW’s Burnley fan pundit Ben Livingstone believes that the Clarets hierarchy should not be considering anything less than £30 million for Odobert, which is a big increase on the reported €12 million that was said to have been sent to Troyes last summer for his services.
“I think Odobert is more than good enough to be in the Premier League,” Ben told Football League World.
He was a 19-year-old talent, and he was fantastic for us last season.
“He is probably one of our most valuable assets, so you have to be starting the conversation at around £30 million, and you don’t drop anything below that.
Livingstone explained this high valuation by highlighting Odobert’s impressive academy background, where he played alongside notable talents like Xavi Simons at PSG.
“He’s not the finished player by any means with his goals and assists record being poor last season, so I can see why people are sceptical,” Ben added.
“But, I think £30 million is a great price. You look at Archie Gray at Leeds, he has only played in the Championship and, although he is English, not French, he has gone for a similar amount, so there is no reason Odobert can’t command the same fee considering he played in the Prem for a year.”
Speaking about the possible retention of Odobert, Livingstone said: “I’d love to keep him, but I just can’t see him being here at the end of the window because he is just too good for the Championship.
“If we were to keep him, I would be buzzing, but we do have a like-for-like replacement in Koleosho, who is the same age. He was our best player in the opening few months in the Premier League, and we signed him for £2.6 million, which is absolutely nothing in perspective.
“Obviously, if we’ve got to raise money and get the numbers down, it makes sense why he (Odobert) would go, and I fully expect him to leave. But, if we can keep him, then it is a no-brainer.”
