REPORT: West Ham star now desperately pushing for exit from club this summer as Player appears annoyed with Hammers over lack of transfer progress

Gianluca Scamacca’s departure from West Ham United is ‘increasingly probably and imminent’ as he appears to grow frustrated at a lack of movement on the transfer front.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who cover the situation around the player today after weeks of speculation about a departure from the London Stadium.

They explain that Roma are pushing to sign a striker this summer after losing Tammy Abraham to a long-term injury and Scamacca is the one that they want.

Director of football Tiago Pinto is more than happy to sign him for Jose Mourinho and the issue is ‘about to be resolved’ as he is ready to do what is necessary to get him.

Scamacca is also waiting for a departure, having already removed the phrase “West Ham player” from his social media after being left out of a recent friendly. His absence from that game is seen as a further example that his exit is ‘increasingly probable and imminent’.

Indeed, there is a belief that the sale can be definitively unlocked over the next week. The two clubs still need to work out an agreement, though.

West Ham have tried, on several occasions, to stall the matter, waiting for an economically advantageous offer to arrive after they spent €36m on the striker last summer.

The wait has not worked so far, though, as no concrete interest has been registered in the player and so they are now opening up to an expensive loan instead.

That would see Roma pay €4-5m initially and include a clause to buy for €22m tied to Scamacca’s performances across the campaign and Roma’s qualification for the Champions League.

Pinto is set to fly to London next week to file these details and close the deal, having already secured a total agreement with the player. That’s a major step already completed and now it seems a deal is there to be done with West Ham.
