“Not sure he wants to go back, He’s been smashing it at Leeds and they want to keep him & I think he wants to stay too”- Good news for Leeds as Whites get huge boost in race to sign Joe Rodon permanently after Spurs Journalist gives update on player’s future
Joe Rodon has been a big hot since arriving at Leeds United from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer. The Welshman has become a firm staple under Leeds boss Daniel Farke, settling in well after his loan move from the capital.
Such has been the defender’s impressive level of performances, there has been talk of Leeds trying t0o make the move permanent, whether that be in January or more likely in the summer at the end of the season, although that could hinge on the division the Whites find themselves in.
Speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Football.London’s Spurs reporter Alasdair Gold said he believes Rodon now sees his future away from North London, which will be music to the ears of Leeds in their efforts to keep the player at Elland Road.
“What I’ve heard is that he is not sure he wants to go back [to spurs] because it could be the same situation over again when everyone is fit and available.
“I think for Joe Rodon, if I’m Joe Rodon I wouldn’t even want to go back to Spurs anyway,” said Gould. “He’s been smashing it at Leeds and I’ve no doubt they want to keep him and I think he would want to stay too. I wouldn’t be shocked in January if they tried to set up a deal to sign him permanently whether that’s at the end of the season or something, he’s just been phenomenal for them.”
