“Its nice not to worry about relegation, to not think about the table when you lose on the weekend”-Max Wober mocks Leeds after summer exit as Austrian says he is happy to have left Club after relegation misery

Leeds United defender Max Wöber burned his bridges at Elland Road with a loan move to Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer, and he’s not focused on returning in 2024.
The Whites sanctioned a great deal of loan exits in the summer window as they managed to save big on wages in 23/24 following relegation.
Such temporary exits did very little for the players wanting to maintain good relationships with the fanbase that supported their terrible performances leading up to being relegated in May.
One of the loan moves that left more of a foul taste than most was Max Wöber’s to Borussia Monchengladbach, after he had reportedly made it clear to the club that he was willing to stay in the Championship.

As soon as an offer came, his priorities shifted, and he has now spoken out about his choice to do so in the summer.
Speaking to Austrian outlet Laola1, he said it’s nice to not worry about relegation:
“You can go back to the court, enjoy it and not think about what happens in terms of the table when you lose on the weekend.”
In terms of what the future holds for him, he added:
“I’m in Gladbach for the year now, I’m totally focusing on it and will throw everything in. I don’t really want to worry about what it looks like in the summer.”
It’s nice to know you’re now stress-free from relegation, given you’re one of the reasons we went down.

Part of the shambolic defence that was disgraced when Spurs made it 4-1 and confirmed our relegation, he’s now happy to kick his feet up and enjoy greener pastures.
It’s incredible that Wöber has no self-awareness that it was down to him and the players to stop relegation, not something that just happened to him.
Good riddance, rotten attitude – and not even a patch on our current defensive partnership.
