“I’d take him back in a heartbeat, he was their best player last season”- Paul Robinson says Leeds should welcome on-loan star back at club next summer as report claims player will return if Whites secure PL promotion

Jack Harrison is ‘nailed on’ for a return to Leeds United if they are promoted this season.

That is according to Leeds Live, who report Harrison will come back to the club from his loan at Everton if Leeds can get back to the Premier League thanks to his ‘mammoth contract’.

Jack Harrison was Leeds United’s “best player last season”, according to Paul Robinson, who would take him back “in a heartbeat.”

Harrison made the switch from the Championship to the Premier League through a loan move to strugglers Everton this summer, but fortunately for the Elland Road faithful, he is set to return at the end of the season.

The Englishman is yet to make his debut for the Toffees in the midst of his recovery from a hip injury but is set to return to fitness in late September, per BirminghamLive (August 15), and was a rare standout in Leeds’ poor relegation-ending campaign last season.

Robinson has singled out the 26-year-old as the sole Leeds United loanee that he would want to be reintegrated into the squad next season, claiming his goal contributions and creativity last season should be rewarded with another chance at Elland Road if they get promoted this year.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “I’d take Jack Harrison back in a heartbeat.

“I think he was the best player last year. His goals, creativity, his assists and the way that he contributed to the team.

“But you look at the other players that are out on loan, I wouldn’t look at that as great if they’re coming back next year.

“You would take back without a shadow of a doubt. He’s injured at the moment and I think that’s possibly why it was a low move to Everton. I think he’ll be a huge asset to them when he gets fit.”

Much of Harrison’s future is likely to dependent on what happens with both clubs this season as Everton will not be able to buy him permanently if they are relegated.

Everton may have to decide in January whether or not to pursue a permanent deal for him as if Leeds are promoted, their desire to sell in the summer will diminish greatly given he is under contract until 2028.

Whether or not Harrison is welcomed back at Leeds after his loan remains to be seen, but that is a bridge that can be crossed when it comes to it.
