“I see the money paid as a waste, Send him back to Crystal Palace, He does not take responsibility and constantly makes excuses”- Ex-Palace star heavily criticized for form at new club
Wilfried Zaha has now been criticised by Turkish media outlet Sabah – who want him sent back to Crystal Palace.
It was Levent Tüzemen who took aim at the 31-year-old in his column for the outlet.
Well, things appeared to be going fairly well for the Ivory Coast international at Galatasaray.
Zaha has scored six goals – while also providing two assists – in 18 appearances so far this season, including a first ever UEFA Champions League goal to secure a win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.
That 3-2 victory eventually helped Galatasaray finish ahead of the Red Devils in Group A and secure a spot in the UEFA Europa League, although some close to Galatasaray are still unhappy with the Ivory Coast international.
Tüzemen wrote: “I see the opportunities given to Zaha and the money paid as a waste.
“If I were Erden Timur (President of Galatasaray) I would look for ways to send Zaha back to Crystal Palace, because this Zaha does not take responsibility and constantly makes excuses. Because of Zaha, the harmony and peace of both Kerem and Icardi was disrupted.”
The Ivorian was often criticised by the media in England – mainly for his unjustified reputation as a diver – so it is a shame to see negative comments follow him to Turkey.
Zaha is hardly to blame for Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League campaign coming to an end – if anything, he kept it alive, providing an assist to dramatically secure a point against Copenhagen, along with his aforementioned strike against Manchester United.
Hopefully, Tüzemen’s hit piece is the only one of its kind – and Zaha can continue to settle in Turkey without negative comments surrounding him.
