“i have a feeling this could happen before the window closes, They really would like to sign him”- David Ornstein says Crystal Palace could still sign highly rated English Midfielder before Transfer deadline

David Ornstein has suggested that Adam Wharton could join Crystal Palace before Thursday’s deadline.

Indeed, it was claimed earlier this week that Spurs hold a ‘genuine interest’ in Wharton, despite links to Conor Gallagher.

Chelsea are also said to be keen on the 19-year-old, who’s enjoying an impressive campaign in the Championship with Blackburn Rovers.

But The Athletic’s David Ornstein believes the talented midfielder could end up at Selhurst Park this week, despite interest from Spurs.

Speaking on The Daily Transfer Briefing, Ornstein shared an update on Palace’s interest in Wharton after having a bid worth around £18.5 million knocked back by Blackburn.

“One to watch is Adam Wharton,” the journalist said. “Crystal Palace are pursuing and we reported a few days ago that they had made an offer of £18.5m, that it had been rejected by Blackburn Rovers.

“However, their pursuit goes on, they really would like to sign him. I have a feeling this could happen before the window closes.”

Wharton has netted two goals and provided three assists in 29 appearances this term. The Englishman continues to impress for Blackburn and it’s no surprise to see him linked with a move to the Premier League.
