At last, it seems like harmony has returned to the Everton dressing room, with Goodison Park playing host to a group of players finally enjoying their football under the new manager.

For so long the playing staff had cut a disinterested group, unwilling to fight for their club in peril, leading to two close calls regarding the retention of their top-flight status.

Having avoided the drop by four, and then two points, Sean Dyche promised that this season would be different.

Given they are already four points from 17th-placed Luton Town, having also overcome a ten-point deduction too, it is fair to say that he has already proven himself correct.

And yet, despite the vast upturn in form which has led to the players in turn exuding confidence, there is one who continues to struggle.

Arnaut Danjuma was one of the star captures in the summer, seeking to right the wrongs of the January window in which he snubbed the Toffees at the eleventh hour.

Well, journalist Paul Brown has now given his thoughts on the Dutchman, suggesting his future looks uncertain. He told GIVEMESPORT: ‘Danjuma is not doing enough for me to warrant the club taking him on a long-term basis.

‘I don’t think he’s got a future at Everton unless he gets his finger out and starts contributing in a much, much bigger way. The club doesn’t have a lot of money, and it will have to be very smart about the signings that it makes. 

‘Danjuma doesn’t really make a lot of sense really for Everton right now. He’s got time to change that, but I think they do have kids like Dobbin who are going to put pressure on his place. You’d expect Dobbin to get much better as he gains some experience and game time. So I don’t think there’s a massive need to keep Danjuma around forever.

‘I think he’s up against it really and probably knows that.’

Having been limited to brief cameos this campaign, it must mark another frustrating return to England for the Dutchman, who too was stuck to Tottenham Hotspur’s bench last term.

The 26-year-old has made just two starts in the Premier League, and despite scoring against Sheffield United it feels like others have risen up to block his pathway to the first-team.

Seeing Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison both return to form and fitness has seen the wide spots locked down, whilst the electric form of Abdoulaye Doucoure is proving too much to deploy the on-loan Villarreal man in his shadow striker role.

The Mali international has six goals already this campaign, and shows no signs of slowing down.

Meanwhile, Danjuma has just two strikes across all competitions, failing to take what little opportunities he is afforded.

The £52k-per-week wizard marked an exciting capture in the summer, and yet few would have expected him to fade into the periphery so soon.

Barring a miraculous turnaround in the second half of the season, it seems like the attacker is destined to once again return to Spain having failed to leave his mark.
