“He would be a really good addition, He could do a good job for Everton” -Kevin Campbell urges Everton to sign experienced West Ham star this summer

Former Everton striker Kevin Campbell believes West Ham star Michail Antonio would be a “really good addition” to Everton despite his age, according.

The Jamaica international was linked to a deadline day move to Goodison Park in January [Mirror, 31 January] and Alan Nixon has since reported via his Patreon that a summer transfer could yet be on the cards.

Antonio is already 33 and is currently in line for his lowest Premier League goals total since joining the Hammers in 2015 but ex-Everton captain Campbell is a big fan of Sean Dyche adding him to the squad and has dismissed fears over his longevity.

The Sky Sports pundit said exclusively to Goodison News: “He’s still got good legs, still got good power, and the fact of the matter is he’s so flexible in the positions he can play.

“Yeah, I think he would be a really good addition.

“These guys are finely tuned now, they all look after themselves correctly.

“So 33 isn’t like 33 was 10 or 15 years ago. 33 is still pretty young.

“I think he could do a good job at Everton.”

Some players’ 33 is not the same as others and the West Ham man has suffered for the addition of Gianluca Scamacca and Danny Ings at the London Stadium this year.

He appears ready to leave and shouldn’t cost huge money so there is a lot to like about his potential signing, as he has thrived in recent seasons as a loan outlet up top, and the Irons have regressed badly in attempting to move on from him.

He wouldn’t be a 20-goal option but 10 top flight strikes in each of the previous three campaigns shows he can chip in regularly as well as bringing others into play

The former Nottingham Forest man displays the sort of industry that Sean Dyche values and would surely be more of a factor than Neal Maupay as a lone striker, so it is one to watch.
