“He needs to get out of there ASAP, a loan move would be a better move than playing 0 games”- Pundit urges Forest star to leave City Ground this summer as he makes urgent plea after player was left out of Reds squad in opening game of the season

USA football pundit Taylor Twellman really doesn’t like Nottingham Forest and now he’s given Matt Turner some advice.
The Reds opened their Premier League season with a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth yesterday with Antoine Semenyo cancelling out Chris Wood’s first-half goal. The game was soured by a serious injury to Danilo and Nuno Espirito Santo has already expressed how much he will be missed.
For some players, it was a first chance to impress at Forest, with Elliot Anderson coming off the bench and Jota Silva and Eric da Silva Moreira being an unused substitute.
Another new player involved in the squad was Carlos Miguel and his place on the bench meant no place for Matt Turner. The goalkeeper has been linked with a move to the Bundesliga and it would appear there is no future for him at Forest.
The pundit isn’t backwards when it comes to being forward about players signing for Nottingham Forest. He was very open about his disgust that Giovanni Reyna had signed for Forest last January. Twellman didn’t think it was a good move – and in fairness, he had a point as Reyna struggled for game time.
Now – after Turner’s omission yesterday – he’s offered the third choice Forest stopper some advice too.
He said on X: “Matt Turner needs to get out of there ASAP. Loan to MLS this winter would be a better move than playing 0 games.”
Clearly his motives behind this advice are based around the USMNT and Forest will surely be working to get Turner a move this summer.
Matt Turner needs to get out of there ASAP. Loan to MLS this winter would be a better move than playing 0 games.
The Reds need to make sure they offload certain players before the transfer window closes this summer. Joe Worrall, Josh Bowler and Emmanuel Dennis are all out of favour and the club will want to move them on.
Turner is a strange one as the club will likely want to attack this season with three goalkeepers in their squad. However, at 30-years-old, Turner will want to play football and there is pretty much zero chance of him doing that at Forest.
Twellman probably does have a point but it’s finding an MLS club willing to take him on loan that might prove the problem. One way or another something needs to happen and hopefully, a sound resolution can be agreed for all parties.
