“He loves the club and would like to stay” – Huge boost for Everton as Journalist confirms 26-year-old star wants to stay at Goodison Park this season despite speculations over future
Dominic Calvert-Lewin would like to stay at Everton this summer.
That’s according to journalist Rudy Galetti, who believes the striker would prefer to remain at Goodison Park despite interest in his signature.
Calvert-Lewin has endured a number of injuries in recent seasons that has badly affected his form and goal record, however that didn’t stop Jose Mourinho from taking an interest in the forward.
The Daily Mail recently reported that Roma were eager to bring Calvert-Lewin to the Serie A on loan, however Everton were quick to shut it down and now it appears that the 26-year-old isn’t keen on the switch either.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Galetti said: “With Calvert-Lewin, nothing concrete in this moment.
“The player would like to stay and get back into the game after a difficult season due to injuries. He doesn’t intend to leave at this point in time as he absolutely loves the club and feels he needs to give back after so much time out”
Calvert-Lewin still has two years left on his current contract on Merseyside and his future at the club may be decided next summer, depending on whether he is able to rediscover his form this season.
Despite injuries, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has previously shown himself to be a valuable asset to the club and his impressive goal tally between 2019 and 2021 can not be forgotten.
With the England international desperately working to get back to full fitness ahead of the new campaign, Sean Dyche will hope he has a rejuvenated version of the striker this time round.
A fit and healthy Calvert-Lewin can easily become Everton’s best player and it definitely isn’t the time to be letting him go this summer – especially when Roma were refusing to pay a single penny.
