“He hasn’t been consistent enough, they could move him on to free up space for Emery” – Allan Hutton says Aston Villa winger is likely to leave club this summer following Diaby signing

Alan Hutton has insisted that Aston Villa star Bertrand Traore is another player who Unai Emery will be looking to move on this summer after the signing of Moussa Diaby.

The former Villa defender has admitted that the attacker has fallen down the pecking order, and that could look to leave the Villans on loan this summer.

It is suggested that bringing in a fee for Traore could free up a spot for Unai Emery to bring another attacker into his squad for the Premier League season.

“He’s another one that could possibly move on,” he exclusively told Villa News.

“With the options they’ve got in the forward area of the pitch, Traore falls down the pecking order. He was called back from his loan last season and scored a couple of big goals.

“I always thought there was a good footballer in there but I don’t think he has been consistent enough. I don’t think he did it on a regular basis. He’s in that situation where he might look to go out on loan.

“I don’t know how long is left on his contract but if they could get a fee for him and move him on and that would free up a space for Unai Emery to bring in a player he’d like to bring into the fold.”

Emery did use Traore towards the end of last season, with the Burkina Faso star making one start and seven appearances from the bench.

The 27-year-old scored two crucial goals against Leicester and Nottingham Forest, with the strike against the Foxes earning three precious points.
