“Given Everton’s financial predicament, There is a possibility that he could be sold this month which will be a massive blow to them from a footballing aspect”- TalkSport pundit confirms Everton may be forced to sell £48m rated star in January due to financial issues

The prospect of keeping Amadou Onana for Everton has always looked slim with interest from some of the Premier League’s richest.

During the past year, Amadou Onana has been a phenomenon for Sean Dyche and has quickly established himself among the league’s premier midfielders.

However, due to financial burdens which Everton finds themselves under – the 10-point deduction being a sign – the knowledge is there that players worth a hefty fee could be sold. Jarrad Branthwaite is another being linked with a move away, although the latest £75 million price tag slapped onto him should deter the majority of interest.

However, that doesn’t seem to be the case with Onana as it’s now been suggested that he could be the player sacrificed to help financials at the club and suitors are already circling.

Onana’s future and potential sale was being discussed by journalist Alex Crook on talkSPORT.

The host began by mentioning Onana is a player to watch in regards to Premier League giants making a move: “And the other player to keep an eye on with Arsenal is Amadou Onana at Everton, who we know Chelsea were looking at previously.”

He then continued to state that the reason the sale is a possible outcome as early as this window, is a financial one.

“And given Everton’s financial predicament, there is a possibility that he could be sold this month which will be a massive blow to them from a footballing aspect.”

Onana’s sale would be a massive blow for Dyche’s side, considering he is among the most important players currently with his display against Burnley being particularly impressive.

Onana is a player who has been linked with some of Europe’s biggest names in recent months and his price tag is likely to reflect his top-class season to date in which he’s been an absolute ‘monster‘ in midfield.

Onana is incredibly technically gifted as James Tarkowski has raved, and that quality lends itself well to playing for bigger clubs.

This is the view of clubs too with Barcelona among the clubs keen on making a move to bring in Onana.

His potential price tag is believed to stand around £48m which is the figure mentioned amid Manchester United rumours recently.
