EXCLUSIVE: Wolves ready to cut losses and sanction sale of Fabio Silva inorder to fund move for highly-rated Arsenal striker

Wolves are reportedly prepared to cut their losses on record-signing Fabio Silva in order to provide funds for a new striker this summer. TEAMtalk reports that money made from the forward’s exit will go some way towards hopefully signing Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah.

Silva cost Wolves £35m back in 2020 but has been unable to break into the first-team and joined Rangers on loan in January, his third such stint after spells with Anderlecht and PSV Eindhoven. The 21-year-old has impressed at Ibrox and those in charge at Molineux are hopeful of getting around £15m – £20m, which would be a significant loss.

Nonetheless, O’Neil is thought to have sanctioned Silva’s exit as he eyes a new striker, with Nketiah on their radar. The 24-year-old is expected to leave this summer after being told by the Gunners he is free to find more regular football elsewhere.

Nketiah is a player Wolves are keeping tabs on according to TEAMtalk, with his agents said to be working hard to try and find the best possible option for him in the summer.

He is under contract at the Emirates until the summer of 2027. This may be something to keep an eye on, because Nketiah could make a great addition for Wolves.

The £100,000-a-week star has never really been a regular at Arsenal, especially when all of Arteta’s other options have been fit to play.

But he’s scored 38 goals in 164 appearances for the Gunners which does show some goalscoring prowess, and he’s also laid on 10 assists.

Perhaps he could really thrive under O’Neil, as so many other players already have at Molineux.
