EXCLUSIVE: Rating all nine of Steve Cooper’s Leicester City signings so far, Bounatte gets 9/10, Skipp gets 7/10, one player gets a 2/10

Leicester City have endured a tough start to life back in the Premier League.

The Foxes have taken just six points from a possible 21, though, they did pick up their first win last weekend as they defeated Bournemouth 1-0. Facundo Buonanotte was the matchwinner and has perhaps been the signing of the summer for Leicester so far.

With that said, we’ve decided to grade all nine of Steve Cooper’s signings.

Facundo Buonanotte (loan) – 9/10
As alluded to, Buonanotte has been Leicester’s best signing of the summer so far having registered four goal involvements in six Premier League outings.
It’s just a shame he’s on loan from fellow Premier League outfit Brighton and Hove Albion.

Odsonne Edouard (loan) – 4/10
In fairness, Odsonne Edouard has only made four appearances for Leicester thus far but he’s yet to get off the mark and hasn’t looked like scoring, either.
The Crystal Palace loanee has a lot to do to get in front of Jamie Vardy.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid (free) – 5/10
Bobby De Cordova-Reid arrived on a free transfer from Fulham and his signing was seen as a smart one at the time.

However, he’s played just 10 minutes of Premier League football over the last five games and looks some way off displacing Stephy Mavididi at the moment.

Michael Golding (£4m) – 5/10
Michael Golding was part of the deal which saw Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall join Chelsea for a reported £30m fee.

The promising teenager is yet to make his debut for Leicester so a standard five rating seems appropriate, here. There are certainly question marks as to why Cooper signed off on the deal, though, as he clearly doesn’t feel he’s ready to even play in cup games.

Jordan Ayew (£8m) – 2/10
Leicester shelled out £8m on Jordan Ayew from Crystal Palace and whilst he’s not been poor by any means, he’s just not done enough to justify his place in the starting 11 every week.

In fact, the 33-year-old is holding back Abdul Fatawu’s development which makes the buy even more baffling. A strange decision by Cooper.

Caleb Okoli (£12.5m) – 7/10
Caleb Okoli has certainly been a hit and has established himself as a regular under Cooper.

The Italian, who arrived from Atalanta, has formed a good pairing with Wout Faes, though, there is a slight question mark about his ability on the ball.

Abdul Fatawu (£14m) – 9/10
Abdul Fatawu actually joined Leicester during the summer of 2023 on a loan deal but that was made permanent this year.

Whilst Fatawu hasn’t been in the side of late, his talent is unquestionable and most supporters can’t quite believe he’s been reduced to the bench. If given the platform, the 20-year-old be a superstar for The Foxes for many years.

Bilal El Khannouss (£17m) – 7/10
Bilal El Khannouss was Leicester’s second most expensive addition of the window and has plenty of promise.

The talented playmaker has played just 79 minutes of Premier League football, so evidently we can’t give him more than a seven rating but there’s tremendous potential to become a talismanic figure for The Foxes over the next few years.

Oliver Skipp (£19.6m) – 7/10
And finally, the most expensive signing of the lot, Oliver Skipp.

Fans questioned the signing at the time, with the lofty price tag a particular talking point, but in his seven outings this far, he’s looked very astute. Aged just 24, Skipp has plenty of room left to grow and could be a fixture of City’s midfield for a decade.
