EXCLUSIVE: Plymouth Argyle Interested in signing 23-yr-old winger with 18 goals contributions last season from Reading this summer

Reading’s Femi Azeez is attracting interest from Plymouth Argyle, according to journalist Darren Witcoop.

The 23-year-old winger joined the Royals in 2019 and now he has entered the final year of his contract. Championship duo Stoke City and Millwall are also said to be in the race to seal a deal for Reading FC winger in the closing stages of the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old’s future in Berkshire has appeared uncertain throughout the summer following a terrific individual campaign for the Royals in League One, scoring nine goals and registering an equal number of assists across all competitions.

However, Azeez’s current contract is set to expire in just under 12 months’ time, and Reading will be keen to avoid the prospect of losing his services without any compensation.

Nonetheless, his exploits in the 2023/24 campaign have put Championship suitors on red alert and it will be interesting to see the direction his future takes in the coming weeks.

Now it remains to be seen if the Pilgrims will be able to put in a bid good enough to convince the Royals to let the Stoke City and Millwall wanted forward go in the coming days.
