EXCLUSIVE: Nottingham Forest make ruthless decision on future of Club captain Joe Worrall and Scott McKenna as Steve Cooper banishes both players from training with Forest first team

Reports have stated that the Nottingham Forest duo have been isolated from the first-team training situation

Nottingham Forest club captain Joe Worrall and fellow teammate Scott McKenna are not training with the first team ahead of matches and have both been put up for sale in January.

The reports suggest that the two Forest players have been told to stay away from first-team training and are instead going through their paces alone on a separate pitch. They also allegedly have to report at a different time to their teammates.

The Nottingham Post understands that while the players are not training with the first team in terms of tactical match preparation sessions, they have not been excluded from the group entirely. There are also thought to be no behavioral issues or rows with management.

The report also states that both players will be available for transfer when the window opens in January. The news will come as a shock to Reds fans who are hoping to see a change in fortune from their side.

Head coach Steve Cooper finds himself in a difficult position after Nottingham Forest suffered a fourth straight defeat on Wednesday night.

The Welshman is expected to be in charge for Saturday’s trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers, but his position is under scrutiny as a result of the Reds’ miserable run of form. Their midweek 5-0 hammering at Fulham means they have managed just one win in their last 11 games.

Forest are 16th in the Premier League table, six points above the relegation zone. After an encouraging start to the campaign, they desperately need an upturn in fortunes.

Cooper has long since acknowledged he expected this term to be tough after another squad overhaul in the summer and given the Reds are only in their second year back in the top-flight. But the club were still keen to consolidate their Premier League status and make progress this season.
