EXCLUSIVE: Newcastle seriously considering £30m move for versatile Italian attacker this summer, player open to move
Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are seriously considering a move to sign Nicolo Zaniolo from Galatasaray in the summer transfer window.
According to reports, Newcastle United are ready to pay €35 million (£30 million) to Galatasaray to secure the services of Nicolo Zaniolo.
Newcastle, who will play in the UEFA Champions League next season after finishing in the top four of the Premier League table last campaign, will then try to convince Zaniolo to make the move to St. James’ Park.
Takvim has claimed that Newcastle, RB Leipzig and Al-Hilal are expected to make offers for the 24-year-old Italy international playmaker this week.
Newcastle United could be able to sign Nicolo Zaniolo from Galatasaray in the summer transfer window.
Newcastle are a big and established club in the Premier League who are going places under owners, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), and manager Eddie Howe.
The Magpies will be aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table yet again next season and challenge for the title in the coming years.
A move to Newcastle could be appealing to Zaniolo, who was described as “extraordinary” by AS Roma head coach Jose Mourinho on the club’s YouTube channel in August 2022.
Zaniolo won the UEFA Europa Conference League with AS Roma in 2021-22 and helped Galatasaray clinch the 2022-23 Turkish Super Lig title last season.
The Italian star can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger.
The 24-year-old can also operate as a centre-forward. Zaniolo joined Galatasaray from AS Roma in the middle of last season.
The 24-year-old made two starts and eight substitute appearances in the Turkish Super Lig for Galatasaray last season.
Zaniolo scored five goals in those games.
