Vincent Kompany could be heading to the Bundesliga as Bayern Munich consider him a possible successor to Thomas Tuchel.
According to journalists Fabrizio Romano and Christian Falk, Bayern Munich have internally discussed the possibility of appointing Vincent Kompany as their next manager despite Burnley being relegated to the Championship after spending just one season back in the top flight. Kompany reportedly fits the profile that the Bavarian club are looking for as their long search for Tuchel’s successor continues.
Romano further claimed that several other clubs in the Premier League as well as across Europe have set their eyes on the ex-Manchester City captain. Brighton could be a possible option as the Seagulls are currently without a manager after the departure of Roberto De Zerbi.
Bayern, who finished third in the Bundesliga this season, are yet to finalise a new manager. The club have already faced rejections from Xabi Alonso, Julien Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick and have also been linked with managers including Roger Schmidt, Hansi Flick, Zinedine Zidane and Jose Mourinho.
The 38-year-old Belgian coach will enjoy a much-needed break after a gruelling season in the Premier League where his team managed to secure just five wins and collected 24 points.
