“Everything is being aimed at teams in a relegation position, What about teams in European positions especially Man City & Chelsea, One rule for one and another for others”- Bryan King blasts PL as he questions bias against Forest & Everton

Everton and Nottingham Forest could have been handed their points deductions at the beginning of the season.

That is according to former Goodison Park scout Bryan King, who believes the clubs at the lower end of the Premier League table are being unfairly treated.

The Toffees have been deduced six points this season, with another case ongoing, while Forest were recently docked four points.

Speaking to Goodison News, King said: “With Nottingham Forest… everything is being aimed at teams in a relegation position. What about the teams that are in the European positions, especially the two that are being questioned at the moment; Manchester City and Chelsea?

“I just think it’s nonsense. Either you do it, or you don’t. Either there’s a fair play rule here, and some are keeping to it, and some obviously haven’t.

“But I can’t see the point in taking away points at this stage of the season. It all could have been done at the beginning of the season. We’re talking offences about last season, we’re not talking about now. One rule for one and another for others.

“This is something they could have been acting on for the last year or 18 months, it’s not something that has just happened in the last five minutes, or since Christmas. Where does fair play start and where does it stop?”

The Premier League has clearly stepped up its interest in its Profitability and Sustainability Rules in recent times, with the Toffees first to fall victim.

They have been followed by Forest, with both clubs in danger of relegation following their respective points deductions.

It remains to be seen what will happen regarding the other charge at Goodison Park, and indeed what will happen at the Etihad and Stamford Bridge, if anything.
