Nottingham Forest are now said to be closing in on their sixth signing of this summer’s transfer window.

It has been a positive start to the summer on all fronts for Nuno Espirito Santo and his side. Forest have been proactive in the window with five new faces already through the door and a number of players leaving for considerable fees.

Evangelos Marinakis will have been sweating over last month’s PSR deadline but the sales of Orel Mangala and Moussa Niakhate relieved any fears.

Having signed five players already, that is not going to stop Forest from doing more in the window after a 2023/24 season which threatened relegation until the final week.

And Forest fans may not have to wait much longer to see signing number six land at the City Ground.

Friday night saw the Reds take to the pitch for the second time this summer as they faced Championship outfit Sunderland in Spain.

After comfortable beating Chesterfield last weekend, Forest faced tougher opposition and were made to work in the heat for their 1-1 draw against the Black Cats.

Forest go again early next week with a game against Millwall which could see Nikola Milenkovic make his debut having signed this week. Signing number six may not quite land in time, but Forest are said to be closing in on their next arrival of the summer.

According to Rudy Galetti, Forest are now in advanced talks with Brazilian side Palmeiras to sign Riquelme Fillipi.

There is now a believed confidence from the Reds that a deal could soon be struck for a fee around £5m.

The young Brazilian is certainly a player for the future at just 17-years-old but Forest are trying to steal a march in finding young talent from Brazil after their recent success.

The Reds have taken a lot of confidence from their signing of Murillo who is now being viewed as a potential £70m player. And Forest will be looking to find more gems from the Brazilian market as they are hoping to do so with the 17-year-old.

The forward can play of either side of the wing and played a significant role in Brazil’s recent triumph in the South American Under-17 Championship.
