CONFIRMED: Fabrizio Romano confirms Aston Villa are seriously interested in signing red-hot Leeds star Crysencio Summerville in January as Whites take decision on player’s future at Elland Road
Crysencio Summerville has been a star for Leeds United this season, and Aston Villa are tracking his progress ahead of the January transfer window.
The Whites dropped down to the Championship after a dismal season in the Premier League last campaign. They are currently third in the table, hoping to get back up, and Summerville has been one of their best players.
Aston Villa are having an amazing season in the Premier League under Unai Emery. The Lions are currently third in the table, level on points with Liverpool and just one below leaders Arsenal. They are definitely in the race to finish in the top four, and reinforcements in the winter window will increase their chances.
One player they are looking at, according to Fabrizio Romano, is Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville. The Dutchman, branded as ‘outstanding‘ by Daniel Farke, is having an amazing season in the Championship, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists in just 20 appearances.
Romano says several clubs, including Villa, are tracking him, but Leeds have no intention of letting him go in next month’s transfer window.
He tweeted: “Crysencio Summerville is on super stats since October: 10 goals and 5 assists. Understand several clubs including Aston Villa keep tracking him…
“Leeds have no intention to sell him in January as he’s key player. Burnley had £20m bid turned down by #LUFC in August.”
Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville is a fan favourite at Elland Road and rightly so for his performances in the Championship this season
The 22-year-old is one of the biggest reasons why Leeds have gone up to third in the table, and he has been in incredible form recently as well. Ross McCormack claimed he’s ‘fed up’ of raving about him.
Summerville has scored 10 goals and provided five assists in his last 14 appearances in the Championship. He found the net against Ipswich at the weekend as well to help his side win 4-1.
Leeds Live branded Summerville as ‘the best player in the championship’ last month, and it’s hard to disagree with that assessment.
