BRENTFORD VS ASTON VILLA: 4-4-2 Aston Villa Predicted Xi, Watkins and Buendia lead the line as Unai Emery looking for fifth consecutive win to continue top 4 push

Aston Villa will take on Brentford as they travel to the Gtech Community Stadium looking to grab all three points from this contest. The Villans recorded a splendid 3-0 victory over Newcastle United which makes them confident of grabbing a win in this weekend’s encounter.

Unai Emery will probably opt for a 4-4-2 formation and is expected to name the same starting lineup as their last outing. So we can expect to see Ollie Watkins and Emi Buendia lead the line together as they form a two-man strike team in the final third.

Defence

After keeping a clean sheet in his last outing, Emiliano Martinez will continue to function in goal for the Villans. Tyrone Mings will resume his centre-back partnership with Ezri Konsa at the heart of Villa’s defence as they try to keep the opposition at bay throughout the game.

Ashley Young will continue to operate as the right-back, while Alex Moreno proves his worth on the other side as the left-back. They will have to defend their penalty box well and try to create some decent chances going forward.

Lucas Digne will offer cover for the defensive positions as they take a spot on the bench.

Midfield

Douglas Luiz will anchor the midfield alongside Leon Dendoncker as they focus on dominating the midfield battle and creating some inviting chances for their teammates up top.

John McGinn will try to be productive for the West Midlands club on the right flank. Jacob Ramsey will try to give a good account of himself as a left-sided wide player. Both of them will be providing support from wide areas.

Boubacar Kamara remains sidelined due to their injuries, so the West Midlands club remains short on options in the midfield department.

Attack

Ollie Watkins and Emi Buendia will form a two-man strike team to lead the charge against the opposition on the attacking end of the field. Both of them would be eager to find the back of the net when they lace up to face off against the Brentford defenders this weekend.

Bertrand Traore will take a spot on the bench as he waits for a chance to shine in the second half.
