“Another great win, Outrageous, Superb to watch” – Alan Shearer reacts to huge 4-1 win over Everton as he singles out one Newcastle star special praise after superb performance
Newcastle legend Alan Shearer has shared his reaction to the Magpies 4-1 victory over Everton at the Goodison Park stadium today
Goals from Callum Wilson (2), Joelinton and Murphy meant the Toffees stayed rooted to the bottom three in the Premier League, two points from safety but pundit and former Newcastle United striker could not hold back in his praise of Eddie Howe’s side.
Shearer also heaped praise on Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak for his “outrageous” run and assist for Jacob Murphy.
The Swedish international skipped through about five or six challenges which started before the halfway line along the byline before flicking to the unmarked Murphy to smash in at the back post.
What a stupendous run from Isak for Newcastle’s fourth as if the Everton defenders weren’t there. It was a training exercise and Dyche will be absolutely livid at how tepid and weak his defenders were all evening.
Isak is a player blessed with amazing quality but to allow him to roam so free in the box and calmly slot the ball into Murphy’s path was so poor and further highlights how much trouble Everton are in down near the bottom.
