“Amazing, You don’t train for things like this, it’s just quality, I can’t even explain” – Joelinton in awe of Newcastle teammate after World class moment in 4-1 win Vs Everton

Joelinton had no explanation for what he saw Newcastle teammate Alexander Isak do last night as the Toon beat Everton 4-1 at Goodison Park.

Newcastle fans will have woken up and headed straight to YouTube this morning to watch the highlights from last night’s game just to make sure that what they saw Alexander Isak do actually happened.

Joelinton wasn’t even sure what happened as he told NUFC TV: “Amazing. You don’t train for things like these, it’s just quality. Alex has a lot of quality. I can’t even explain how he did it but it was amazing and it finished with a goal and that’s the most important.”
In case you somehow missed it and you’ve so far not spoken to anybody who saw it – because if you had, they’d definitely have mentioned it by now – Alexander Isak completely tore apart the Everton defence with a run down the left flank before providing an assist for Jacob Murphy.

He pulled four Everton defenders in all different directions before hitting the ball across the face of goal, all after picking the ball up on the halfway line. Not to mention that this came immediately from kick-off after Everton scored a freak goal to make it 3-1.

The assist isn’t credited to Isak due to a deflection that placed the ball at Murphy’s feet, but it was 99.9% Isak. The run was so good that Murphy didn’t even feel he could take any credit for the goal and made sure that everyone knew that it was all Isak’s work.

For Joelinton, who trains with Isak every day, to say he doesn’t know how he does it, shows how good he is. He’s exposed my lack of vocabulary since he went on this run of form as I’ve literally ran out of superlatives to describe him.

Alan Shearer called what he did last night ‘outrageous‘ and he’s absolutely right. For a player so tall and slight he’s so hard to knock off the ball. His footwork is sublime, his finishing is so cool. He has everything.

Whoever it was who brokered the deal to sign Isak from Real Sociedad was definitely wearing a mask and a striped jumper because even at £63million he was a steal. Stick another zero on the end of that figure and I still wouldn’t sell him.
