Jayden Bogle is set for a Leeds United medical imminently after a deal was agreed to bring him to Elland Road, John Percy reports.

According to the Telegraph journalist via X on 20 July the Blades defender is set to join the Whites in a £5million deal after an agreement was reached.

He will head for testing the straight away ahead of joining Daniel Farke’s squad ready for the new Championship season.

The 23-year-old will become the second major signing in defence for the German after Joe Rodon’s £10m return from Tottenham.

Leeds have been losing players faster than they can fill the gaps and the full-back spots have been looking particularly light this summer.

Archie Gray’s big-money move to Spurs robbed Farke of his regular starting right-back from last season while primary back-up Connor Roberts returned to Burnley at the end of his loan.

The Welshman is believed to be very interested in coming back to Elland Road if the Clarets have moved on from him [Adam Pope] so whether signing Bogle rules that out remains to be seen.

Jamie Shackleton has also departed at the expiry of his contract and signed at Bramall Lane so the Whites were faced with heading into the season with only the injury-prone pair Sam Byram and Junior Firpo to cover both full-back positions.

Jayden Bogle is set to join Leeds United with a medical already scheduled.

There has been suggestion that Firpo could be sold himself so it would be no shock if there were further signings made along the back line, pending clarity on Max Wober’s future.

But the club have routinely neglected to fully address the positions, particularly left-back, so how plentiful the manager’s options end up remains a moveable feast.
