EXCLUSIVE: Nottingham Forest now exploring loan move for West Ham attacker as Reds make enquiry ahead of transfer deadline with Nuno keen to strengthen attack
Nottingham Forest are exploring a loan move for West Ham attacker Maxwel Cornet ahead of the transfer deadline.
Forest know they are restricted to what they can achieve in the transfer market given tight finances but are interested in Cornet on temporary deal until the end of the season.
Cornet, 27, is on the peripheries of the Hammers squad, making just two Premier League appearances so far this season – though he did score in the club’s previous top-flight outing – the 2-2 draw versus Sheffield United.
And talks over a proposed loan move for Cornet to the City Ground are underway.
The Ivory Coast attacker joined West Ham from Burnley in August 2022 for £17.5million but has made just three Premier League appearances in that time.
Forest are keen on making attacking reinforcements this month, with Gio Reyna at Borussia Dortmund – along with Cornet – among their targets.
Meanwhile, the Hammers have an interest in Al Ittihad forward Jota with talks with the Saudi club over a deal ongoing.
