EXCLUSIVE: Nottingham Forest linked with move again to sign Top Class PL proven star this January as Reds reignite interest in player after initially trying to sign him last summer
Nottingham Forest have been credited with an interest in Southampton striker Che Adams once again.
So, what is the latest involving Adams and a potential move to Forest? Let’s take a closer look. Well, this looks like one link that simply refuses to go away, with Forest linked with a move for Adams during the summer.
The striker remained at Southampton despite interest during the last transfer window – scoring seven goals during 2023/24. Now, reports in Turkey claim that Forest, Wolves and Crystal Palace have all placed Adams on their January radar.
Southampton will be in a bit of a predicament with their striker this month. Adams will see his contract expire in the summer and at 27-years-old, he’d be able to walk away from St Mary’s Stadium on a free transfer.
In our view, the Reds will only move for Adams should other transfer targets be unobtainable this month.
Ally McCoist is a big fan of the Forest-linked Adams. He called him ‘terrific’ back in 2022 following some impressive form for Scotland.
Forest have a new manager and ultimately, it’s only natural that he will want to attract some of his own players. With Chris Wood the only available striker right now, it seems likely that another forward will be on the shortlist.
Adams has been linked with the City Ground before and given that he’s relatively versatile, perhaps he wouldn’t be a bad signing.
Crucially, he wouldn’t break the back and he does at least have some experience of playing in the Premier League.
Forest will have several targets in mind but if the price is right – and the salary isn’t too excessive – perhaps Adams can be a smart addition.
