“I can’t imagine for a second that Forest are going to let a player like that go in January”- Journalist confirms Nottingham Forest stance on Gibbs-White future following interest from Tottenham

Nottingham Forest are unlikely to sell Morgan Gibbs-White to Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.

That is according to journalist Dean Jones, who has given his take on speculation linking Gibbs-White with a move to Spurs.

Well, Morgan Gibbs-White has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur. The Daily Mail reported that Spurs are interested in signing the Nottingham Forest attacking midfielder in the January transfer window.

The report noted that Tottenham scouted Gibbs-White in action for Forest against Manchester United at the City Ground in the Premier League last time out. The 23-year-old, who can also operate as a winger, scored in the 2-1 win for Nuno’s side.

Journalist Dean Jones does not think that Forest will sell Gibbs-White in the middle of the season.

Jones told GiveMeSport: “If they could get Gibbs-White then I think it’d be a really nice move, because then you can see the kind of personality that you’re building within the team as well as what you’re getting technically out of these players.

“Postecoglou is going to be very big on making sure that he identifies players that are going to improve the morale within the camp and the levels to which the squad can still be lifted. I think Gibbs-White would fit in with that.

“I mean, I can’t imagine for a second that Nottingham Forest are going to let a player like that go in the January transfer window with the way things are going. He’s a big part of what they do and he seems to love it. So, I think that’d be a tough one to pull off.”

The Reds need to turn down all potential bids from Tottenham Hotspur. Of course, we know that in football money talks, but Forest are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

Successive wins against Newcastle United and Manchester United under head coach Nuno have enhanced their chances of escaping the drop to the Championship at the end of the season, but Forest are still only five points above the Premier League relegation zone at the moment.

Gibbs-White is one of the best and most important players for Forest, who need to keep him for the rest of the season at least. He has been described as “a really special talent” by former Forest and Spurs player Jermaine Jenas.

The 23-year-old former Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder has scored two goals and given three assists in 18 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Forest so far this season.
