“Leeds are in the market, there could be a Window of opportunity there, So don’t be surprised if we see some movements with him”-Journalist says Leeds could move to sign Chelsea & Brazilian midfielder on loan this January

Andrey Santos has returned to Chelsea after a pointless loan spell at Nottingham Forest.

The Brazilian midfielder barely got a game during his time at the City Ground, and now, he’s headed back to Stamford Bridge. Unfortunately, Santos still isn’t ready to play for Chelsea, so, another loan spell is in the offing.

After struggling to get a game for a bottom-half Premier League team, Andrey Santos’ next move could now be to the EFL, and according to Ben Jacobs, speaking on The Debrief, Leeds United is a possible destination for the midfielder.

Andrey Santos could head to Leeds as Jacobs shared what he knows about the £18m man.

“Crystal Palace are interested and there are Championship clubs as well. Ipswich may be one to watch and I think that Leeds are still in the market. Even though they made some replacements they lost Weston McKennie and there could be a window of opportunity there, so don’t be surprised if we see some movement with Santos and some Championship clubs,” Jacobs said.

This is very exciting to say the least for Leeds.

The Whites already have one of the best midfields in the Championship, and Andrey Santos would only add to that.

Let’s not forget, before he joined Chelsea, Andrey Santos was wanted by a number of huge clubs in Europe, and the fact that he cost £18m just goes to show how highly rated he was.

Of course, it hasn’t worked out for him at Forest this season, but there’s no shame in not getting a game in a bloated squad under a manager who has desperately been trying to save his job.

Leeds may need that added spark this month if they are to secure promotion from the Championship, and Andrey Santos could be just what the doctor ordered.

This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on.
