“The Writing is on the wall, Farke doesn’t trust him, he will be leaving very soon” – Journalist says Leeds star is set to leave Elland Road before close of summer transfer window

Transfer expert Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that the “writing is on the wall” for Cody Drameh at Leeds United ahead of Friday’s deadline – following the arrival of Djed Spence on loan from Tottenham.

Drameh, 21, has only managed two outings for Leeds this season – having suffered an injury during pre-season, being forced to play catch-up since. One of those, he was hooked at Ipswich after coming on.

With his contract due to expire at the end of the season, the signing of Spence looks set to have ended any chance of him kickstarting his Leeds spell. There is interest in the England Under-21 international.

Phil Hay recently said that West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brentford and Southampton are all interested in Drameh. Now, Jones has given an update on the future of Drameh – and says Spence means he will go.

“The writing is on the wall for Drameh. It was a bad night for Leeds and an especially bad day for him as Spence arrived at the club. Then he didn’t see a minute of action in the Salford defeat,” Jones said.

“Farke’s actions since then are not of a man who trusts the player or has any plans for him. Drameh will be leaving very soon. It’ll probably be a loan, but they are open to a sale if they open the right avenue.”

Drameh needs to go. Leeds have not given him the platform to go and shine. He has been given that at Luton and Cardiff – and look how that went. Promotion at Luton, Player of the Season at Cardiff.

The latter, despite only playing for the Welsh side for half a season. He is a player with huge potential, the potential to be playing for a Premier League club. But he needs the right club. Leeds is not that.
