REPORT: Leeds seriously considering move to sign another Tottenham defender on loan before summer transfer deadline, Whites make formal approach
Daniel Farke’s Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Djed Spence from Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
According to The Athletic, Leeds United want to sign Djed Spence from Tottenham Hotspur on a loan deal.
The report has claimed that Championship club Leeds have made “an approach” to Premier League side Tottenham to sign Spence on a season-long loan deal.
The 23-year-old right-back is reportedly not in the plans of Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou for this season.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Djed Spence would be a good signing for Leeds United
In our view, Tottenham Hotspur right-back Djed Spence would be a good signing for Leeds United in the summer transfer window.
Spence may have failed to make an impact at Tottenham so far, but the 23-year-old did well in the Championship. The Englishman was very good during his loan spell at Nottingham Forest from Middlesbrough during the 2021-22 season.
Spence made 41 starts and one substitute appearance in the Championship for Forest that campaign.
The 23-year-old right-back scored two goals and gave four assists in those games. Leeds are aiming to win promotion from the Championship this season.
Having a player like Spence who knows the division well and has been a success would be a good option to have for head coach Daniel Farke.
