Report: Leeds midfielder now set to be the latest player to depart Elland Road this summer as Whites reach agreement for transfer of player, official announcement imminent
Real Betis and Leeds United have an ‘agreement in principle’ for the transfer of Marc Roca, reports from Spain say.
Estadio Deportivo claim that ‘in the past few hours’, the La Liga side ‘advanced’ for the signing of the 26-year-old.
It’s claimed that the agreement between Betis and Leeds is ‘already closed’, with Roca joining the Spanish club until next summer.
Following relegation to the Championship, the Whites were ‘obliged’ to loan him out just so the Spanish club can afford his salary in full.
Betis ended up benefitting from the situation, because according to Estadio Deportivo, they even managed to include a buying option in the deal.
It’s said Leeds were ‘reluctant’ about it, but ended up accepting the situation.
Roca is said to have shown a ‘total predisposition’ to join Betis, as everything was ‘more or less already agreed in advance’. So now that the clubs have a deal, it shouldn’t take long for things to be made official.
There’s no information on how much the La Liga side would need to pay in case of the permanent move. The midfielder is valued by Transfermarkt at €10m.
