Report: Everton make £35million rated Portuguese striker top target this summer as Sean Dyche looks to finally replace Dominic Calvert Lewin
Everton’s striker search is expected to intensify in the coming weeks of the transfer window. The Toffees already have a list of transfer targets and will push to sign forwards in an attempt to bolster the attack. Udinese striker Beto is one of the top targets and Everton have been following him since January.
Back in the January transfer window, the Toffees were looking to sign a striker and made attempts to sign the likes of Duvan Zapata, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Marko Arnautovic and Beto.
EFC submitted a €25 million offer for Beto but the Italian club rejected the offer. This time around, Udinese are acceptant of the fact that the Portuguese striker will leave the club with many suitors lined up.
Everton could return for Beto this summer and Udinese are very clear on their stance. They are willing to sell Beto for €35 million and will not accept a lower fee than that.
According to Mondo Udinese, Everton are in front of the queue to sign the 25 year old forward. Udinese will not offer any discounts and bids are expected to arrive as early as next week.
Napoli also like Beto and are in the race but as things stand, EFC lead the race to sign Beto. The 25 year old netted 10 goals in 33 Serie A games. At €35 million, Beto seems to be overpriced given Everton’s financial limitations. A better alternative would be to bring Gyokeres, who looks to be a solid fit for Sean Dyche’s system and is available for a cheaper price of €20 million.
The Toffees could also target a free agent signing in Moussa Dembele. However, he has had a poor, injury stricken season which raises doubts on his fitness. EFC cannot afford to have another injury prone forward in the squad as Dominic Calvert-Lewin continues to sustain recurring injuries.
EFC are looking to sign at least two forwards this summer to rejuvenate the attack. Exits can also take place with Neal Maupay being linked with Salernitana.
