Report: Nottingham Forest now willing to sanction sale of 22year old attacker for record £40m as player attracts interest from PL rivals

Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson has caught the attention of both Everton and West Ham, although any interested club will have to come up with £40m for his services.

The 22-year-old played in all 38 of Forest’s Premier League games this season as they survived in the top flight after their unlikely promotion from the Championship last year.

The Wales international scored eight Premier League goals and provided three assists, so not quite prolific, but did cause problems for defences with his immense pace.

According to Opta, Johnson record the second highest top speed in the Premier League this season at 36.70 km/h, with only Manchester City’s Kyle Walker outdoing him.

The package of pace, potential and Premier League experience has alerted Everton and West Ham, with the Daily Mail that both are considering summer bids for the forward.

Forest will not be letting him go on the cheap though, if at all, and would not be accepting any less than £40m for one of their most valuable assets.

Johnson only signed a new contract with the club last year, which runs until the summer of 2026 so Forest are under absolutely no pressure to sell.

Given Steve Cooper’s side finished above Everton in the table and only two points behind West Ham, there is also no guarantee that he would want to leave the club he has been at since he was eight years old for either of those teams.
