“I’d love them to come West Ham, he could be good for us” – West Ham legend Frank McAvennie says he wants Hammers to sign Leicester attackers this summer

Frank McAvennie has admitted he would “love” if West Ham United signed Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes after their relegation to the Championship.

Barnes scored against the Hammers on Sunday in the Foxes’ 2-1 win over West Ham, but couldn’t stop them from being relegated after Everton beat Bournemtouh.

And the 25-year-old is expected to be one of several players to leave the King Power Stadium this summer, with David Moyes mooted to have interest in the £50m ace according to reports.

And after admitting that he would be interested in seeing the club sign Barnes’ teammate James Maddison, McAvennie also revealed he’s a fan of Barnes and would welcome him to the London Stadium also.

“He’s a good player,” he told West Ham Zone.

“I don’t know what the fee would be, but I’d expect it would be a lot of money.

“Maddison could be good for us.

“There are good players going to be available.

“I’d love them to come to West Ham. They’re two good players who would improve West Ham, but whether we’ll actually go for them I don’t know.”

The Irons will have European football next season if they’re able to defeat Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final next week (7 June), which could play a part in convincing sought after players to join the club this summer.
