LEEDS vs NEWCASTLE: Leeds predicted XI (4-4-2) Bamford and Rodrigo to both start in attack as Sam Allardyce makes changes in must win clash for Leeds

Leeds United take on Newcastle United as they welcome them to Elland Road on Saturday, hoping to give them a tough competition. The Whites will come into the match on the back of a 2-1 defeat against Manchester City. Their confidence has been severely affected before the upcoming match, making it imperative for them to perform at their best in order to avoid a devastating defeat.

Sam Allardyce will probably opt for a 4-4-2 formation and is expected to make a few changes to the starting XI for this contest. Joel Robles will continue to operate in between the sticks, while Rodrigo could be rewarded with a start after coming off the bench to score against City.

Defence

Joel Robles will feature in between the sticks for the Whites after conceding two goals in his last league outing. Wober will function alongside Rasmus Kristensen at the centre of the Leeds backline as they look to stop the Newcastle attackers from creating too much trouble in their defensive half.

Luke Ayling will continue as the right-back while Junior Firpo fills in on the other flank as the left-back. Allardyce will ask both of them to keep a solid defensive shape at the back.

Pascal Struijk will take a spot on the bench to provide cover for the defensive positions.

Midfield

Weston McKennie and Adam Forshaw will anchor the midfield for Leeds United as they hope to make life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park.

Jack Harrison and Wilfried Gnonto will operate from wide areas. Both of them must create enough opportunities for the Whites to stand a chance in this weekend’s contest.

Luis Sinisterra and Brendon Aaronson will have to settle for a spot on the bench as they wait for a chance to shine in the second half if required.

Attack

Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo will form a two-man strike team to lead the West Yorkshire giants in the final third.

Georgino Rutter will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Gracia decides to call upon his services.
