Leicester City welcomed Bournemouth to the King Power Stadium for a Premier League meeting on Saturday.
The Foxes have endured a rough return to life back in the top flight, going into this meeting still searching for their first win of the season. Pressure is mounting on Steve Cooper and he will likely have been aware that his job would be under even more pressure had his side not pick up a win against the Cherries.
In form right back James Justin dinked the ball over an opposition defender out on the right-hand side for Facundo Buonanotte, who then cut inside, beat a player and smashed in a simply stunning effort.
The Argentine’s goal at the King Power has since led to Leicester fans heaping praise on the forward on social media as that strike would secure the Foxes all three points in the game.
One fan wrote: “Hate to announce it but I’ve fallen in love with a loan player. Buonanotte is amazing.”
Another Leicester fan added: “I am a big fan of Buonanotte, he’ll come on a lot for a season’s worth of full 90s.”
A third fan added: “A terrific goal from Buonanotte. He set up a wall, got into the area, feinted Senesi and nailed an unstoppable left-footed shot. Great goal.”
On fan even suggested after his goal that Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has a lot of work to do getting back into the team ahead of the South American: “Fatawu Issahaku has a lot of work to do because this Buonanotte guy is going to be a problem for him.”
Some fans even sent a clear message to Leicester, urging them to sign Buonanotte permanently from Brighton and Hove Albion.
One wrote: “Don’t care that Brighton don’t want to sell. Offer them whatever it takes to get Buonanotte.”
Another added: “No chance we’re able to pry Buonanotte off of Brighton is there.” While a third simply wrote: “Pay whatever Brighton want.”
The 19-year-old has had a sensational start to life at the King Power following his season-long loan switch from Brighton.
Buonanotte came in for high praise in the Arsenal defeat and has been similarly lauded on Saturday as well. He has now scored two and assisted two in his first six Premier League appearances for Leicester, who would no doubt love to secure him to a permanent contract.
But given his obvious talent it is hard to see the Seagulls being willing to part ways with him. But should Cooper’s side stay up, they may be able to coax Brighton into a sale if they offer up enough money.
